Legislative Decree no. 179/2026, which came into force on October 23, 2026, added paragraph 1-bis to article 98 of the Industrial Property Code, which provides that data, algorithms and mathematical methods for training artificial intelligence systems are also included amongst the business information and technical and industrial know-how eligible for protection.
