Misleading Advertisement

The Italian Competition Authority, with decision no. PS12524/2024 based on the Consumer Code, sanctioned two companies to pay administrative fines for misleading advertisement of heated tobacco devices carried out both through billboards and cinema commercials and on Internet sites. In particular, the Authority stated that the aforementioned devices were not advertised in such a way as to truthfully convey to consumers that they are harmful to health, due to the presence of nicotine in the tobacco sticks to be used with the devices and that they are not intended for use by minors
